The Story Behind Every Slice

Green Lantern Pizza was born in 1999 from a simple but powerful idea: that great pizza should be made with love, served with pride, and shared with community. What started as a small family-run kitchen on Walton Blvd. in Rochester Hills, Michigan, has grown into one of the most celebrated pizzerias in the region.

Our founder, Tony Marchetti, learned the art of authentic pizza-making from his grandmother in Naples, Italy. He brought those time-honored recipes — slow-fermented dough, hand-crushed tomatoes, and premium imported cheeses — to the heart of Michigan, adapting them to the flavors and spirit of the American Midwest.

Today, Green Lantern Pizza continues that tradition with the same dedication to craft and community that has defined us from day one. Every pizza that leaves our kitchen carries decades of passion, technique, and the unmistakable flavor of something made with genuine care.

From humble beginnings to a beloved Rochester Hills institution — here's how Green Lantern Pizza grew.

1999

The First Oven

Tony Marchetti opens Green Lantern Pizza in a modest 600 sq ft space on Walton Blvd. The first day's menu featured just four pies — all made from his grandmother's Neapolitan recipes.

2003

Community Recognition

Green Lantern Pizza wins "Best Pizza in Rochester Hills" at the Oakland County Food Festival for the first time. The recognition sparks a wave of new loyal customers.

2008

Expanded Kitchen & Menu

After nearly a decade of growth, we relocated to a larger space and expanded our menu to include calzones, pasta, and our now-famous signature sauces, tripling our capacity.

2014

Online Ordering Launched

We embraced the digital age with a full online ordering platform, making Green Lantern Pizza accessible to every home in the Rochester Hills area with just a few clicks.

2019

20th Anniversary

We celebrated two decades with a full dining room renovation, introducing our signature dark-wood aesthetic, and launched the Green Lantern loyalty program for our most dedicated fans.
